When I grow up, I want to be a teacher. A teacher is someone who teaches someone something. Teachers teach kids many different subjects including math, science, social studies, English, music, ECT. Teaching knowledge to kids helps them learn things for their later in their lives and is vital role in the development of children.

To be a teacher means you must be licensed. Sometimes to get a license to be a teacher you typically need a bachelor’s degree and the completion of an approved teacher education program. Teachers also must have the ability to communicate, inspire, and motivate students, as well as understand students’ educational and emotional needs. Teacher’s salary ranges from $47,100 to $51, 180 in May 2008. The lowest 10 percent earned $30,970 to $37,280 and the top 10 percent earned $75, 190 to $80, 970. According to the American Federation of Teachers, starting teachers with a bachelor’s degree earned an average of $33, 227 in the 2005- 2006 school year.

Teachers have many core subjects but, it depends on what grade and what subject you are teaching. Some teachers use math, physical science, social studies, music, art, or literature but, they are all connected so in one class you are typically learning more than one different subjects. If you were a teacher you would usually need to know the subject you are teaching and any other subject that might be introduced if needed to understand the concept you are teaching.

I choose to be a teacher because I believe I am great with younger children. I also think I am suited for this career because I also think I am very tolerant. The career inventory showed that I am social, conventional, and realistic which I think is extremely true. I hope that someday you would like to help kids learn.
